QUESTION AND ANSWER |
|
| How do i sign up for a camp |
| You go to our
REGISTRATION page and carefully fill out the registration form. Then you can
print off the waiver, read it and sign it. We require a deposit of $50 for
all day camps and adventures and $300 deposit for all overnight camps. You
can process that deposit through our website or deliver it within 3 business
days to our address. Full payment is due within 5 business days from the
registration (7 days for international campers). The waiver must be signed
by both the legal guardian(s) and the participant. You can mail the waiver
and the payment together to our address (3642 Pt Grey Rd, Vancouver) or drop
it off at John Henry's (100-400 Brooksbank Ave. North Vancouver). |

| How do I know what level is
good for me? - bike camps |
| Bike camps are
split based on level first and then on age. You can see what level you are
at through our RATE YOURSELF form. Generally we only ask you to tell us
approximately what level you might be as there will be an assessment at the
beginning of the first day and you will be placed in line with your level. |

| Is an Adventure Camp for me? |
| All of our
overnight camps (Surf, Freeride Team Tour, Adventure) have certain rules and
requirements. Generally we expect you to be a fairly sociable, responsible
and curious person. Sense of humor helps! You should be of average physical
fitness and be free of serious life-threatening conditions. The rules are
strict, especially when it comes to smoking, drugs and other undesired
behaviors. You can read more on the itinerary for your camp. |
| I |
| What equipment do I need? |
| Each camp has a
list of things that you are required to bring. That list is in the itinerary
so please study it carefully. For bike camps, we have a significant amount
of gear (bikes, helmets, pads) that are available to rent. Adventure Camps
usually provide most of the equipment except for personal-use items. |
| I |
| Is my bike OK? |
| We have different
requirements for different camps when it comes to equipment. Generally there
are very few requirements for Little Rippers, and more for Extreme Riders.
All bikes must be in a perfect working order before we let you ride them so
please book a tune-up for your bike well ahead of the camp! |
| I |
| I don't know anybody in the
camp- will I be fine? |
| Most kids sign up
without their friends so you are not alone. You will discover that making
friends is really fast and easy in an ESC camp. The instructor facilitates
the interactions from the very first day and you end that day with a bunch
of new "buddies". |
| I |
| How will I know where to go
every day? |
| Your parents will
receive a list of locations for every drop-off and pick-up along with a map
and directions. Just to be sure- ask your instructor- they don't mind! |
